Legacy for Laurel: Recognizing the Generosity of Gift Planning

Legacy for Laurel is the program by which Laurel supporters in the present honor its past by planning for the School’s future. Over the years, much of the School's financial stability has stemmed from bequests and other planned gifts.  For instance, alumnae and friends have used gift planning to help build Laurel's nearly $40 million endowment.

To maintain this progress, we invite alumnae, parents, parents of alumnae, faculty members, grandparents and friends to join those who have already included Laurel School in their estate plans. Membership begins with the date of your commitment and it never ends. There is no minimum amount or percentage of estate that qualifies a member: only the donor’s desire to make a perpetual statement of support.

A planned gift to Laurel School might take the form of:

  • A Bequest in a Will
  • A gift from a Trust
  • A Charitable Gift Annuity
  • A Charitable Remainder Unitrust
  • A Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust
  • Designation as a Beneficiary of a Life Insurance Policy
  • Designation as a Beneficiary of a Retirement Plan or IRA

A member of Legacy for Laurel is recognized in every issue of Highlights, Laurel's magazine.

Read the interesting stories of two recently highlighted members: Frances Baker Bayless, a member of Laurel's Class of 1947, and Margaret Walker Skinner, a member of Laurel's Class of 1952.
