Laurel's Primary students benefit from a full-time Primary science specialist and a well-equipped Primary science lab.

Throughout the year, science instruction is integrated with grade level thematic studies. As each theme is developed, related biological and physical science concepts are investigated with hands-on activities in the lab or outdoors and through discussions, reading, audiovisual materials, and interactive websites. The result is a carefully articulated curriculum through which the girls continuously expand their skills of inquiry and their scientific knowledge.

The science curriculum aims to provide a balance between learning scientific methods and concepts and to inspire a sense of wonder about our natural world.

To accomplish these goals, Laurel's Primary students make frequent use of our Butler Campus through "LAB" days.
