NSC Summer Academy

The North Star Collaborative Summer Academy 2009 took place both at Laurel’s Lyman Circle Campus in Shaker Heights and its 140-acre outdoor Butler Campus in Russell Township. The North Stars participated in academic enrichment activities in core content areas as well as activities designed to develop leadership skills, encourage self-expression and immerse the girls in the natural world.
 
The Summer Academy was run by NSC Director Holly Fidler (3rd grade teacher at Laurel) and NSC Associate Directors Stacie Crowell (3rd grade teacher at WGLA) and Shannon Lukz (3rd grade teacher at Laurel).  Crucial to the success of the program were the Laurel Upper School students who worked throughout the 6-week academy as Student Assistants.
