Music Enrichment

Early Childhood Music Enrichment inspires children to appreciate and create various styles of music. Activities include singing, rhythm games, listening to music and playing percussion instruments. The children will also learn about orchestral instruments and be able to identify them by sight and by sound.

Pre-school children will spend time in the Spring listening and responding to Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens. They will be able to identify the various movements of the piece and recognize the instruments heard. Pre-kindergarten children will listen and respond to Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev. They will be able to identify the motifs that are associated with the characters in the piece and recognize the instruments used for each.
