Self-Assessment (Spring 2011)
On Wednesday, June 8th, the entire Laurel School community—all faculty and staff, trustees and some alumnae, parents and students—participated in the AIM Summit at the Butler Campus. This event allowed us to continue conversations about inclusivity and equity at Laurel and ways in which we can make progress in these essential areas.
Thank you for all that you have done to help make the AIM Study a successful community building process.
Sincerely,
The AIM Steering Committee
Climate Survey (Fall 2011)
At the beginning of the 2011–2012 academic year (October 3rd – October 24th) the school community will take part in phase two of the AIM study, the Climate Survey. This survey is web-based and confidential. There will be questions for all survey respondents to answer, and also specific questions based on your affiliation (i.e., student, parent/guardian, trustee, administrator, faculty/teacher, staff, and alumna). Respondents will be asked to indicate their level of agreement or disagreement with the following statements:
All Respondents: In my opinion, diversity in the faculty, administration and student body is important to the excellence in the education provided by the school.
Students: It is easy for people like me to be accepted here.
Administrators, Faculty, Staff: The school is making consistent progress in building an inclusive school.
Parent/Guardians: Our family feels respected regardless of our socioeconomic status or class.
Alumnae: The school prepared me to take an active role in addressing issues of inequity in our society.
Trustees: The school’s mission statement regarding diversity and multiculturalism is measureable.
An email with the survey link has been sent to various adult constituencies in the school community. Students in grades 4th – 6th will answer the Younger Student Survey, and students in grades 7th – 12th will use the Main AIM Survey along with the adults. These sites will be live October 3rd – October 24th. The survey can also be accessed by clicking the following links:

Report Findings (Winter/Spring 2012)
Once both portions of the AIM Study have been completed and analyzed, members of the AIM Steering Committee will present our findings in a series of in school and after school meetings. Look for more information regarding the dates of the presentations in February of 2012.
