Cultural Awareness for Everyone: CAFÉ
- All members of the Laurel School community are invited to attend and connect twice a semester to take part in a variety of activities aimed at examining how social identifiers play a role in society.
- CAFÉ meetings will include the following:
- Discussing articles or community reads—i.e. Hunger Games
- Reviewing of current events and how they affect us
- Celebrating the diversity within our school, local, national, and global communities
- The CAFÉ topic will vary; some will be designed and facilitated by the members of the advisory board and others will be designed and facilitated by student groups
- The current advisory board members are Ann V. Klotz, Dr. Erica White, Holly Fidler, Jason Singleton, Joan Pfeffer, and Khalila Thomas

Equity and Inclusion Committee
- Tasked with gathering and reviewing resources that can be used to further enhance and develop multicultural curriculum Pre-Primary – Grade 12
- Providing background research/information for CAFÉ and workshops related to multicultural education
- Facilitated by Holly Fidler and Joan Pfeffer
